Larry Price was the twenty year younger brother of respected New York abstract painter Melville Price (1920-1970). Born in upstate New York, Larry Price studied painting with his brother Melville in Philadelphia c.1957 and the Art Students League with Bernard Klonis in New York 1958. Between 1960-1987 Price exhibited in New York City and Albany NY including the 1984 exhibition 'The First Underground Show' organized by Thornton Willis at Willis's loft on Broome Street which garnered favorable reviews by critic Deborah Solomon in Art in America. Price had several solo exhibitions at The Albany Museum of Art & Science. In the late 1960s Price studied art conservation and begun a career restoring art objects for clients such as The Metropolitan Museum of Art and The Museum of Art and Science in Albany.
